#YouNeedToKnow #Politics: #Teleconference: Green #Campaign #Media, Tuesday, May 27 | #greens #ows #p2 #The99%

(Please forward this widely to Green Party lists and to Green candidates and campaign organizers. Thanks!)

"Setting up a functioning media operation is essential for any Green candidate. Using the media right will give your campaign a strong public presence. For a lot of the public, a candidate doesn't really exist until they see the candidate's name in the newspaper or on TV, or on Facebook and Twitter."

This 'Campaign Media' teleconference/webinar on Tuesday, May 27 at 9pm EDT is designed for Greens who are running for office or considering a run in the future. The call will cover various aspects of media relations from traditional media to social media. This will be an interactive dialogue with participants about how to garner media attention for your campaign and use the media to get your message out. The call will be led by Scott McLarty and Starlene Rankin.

Topics to be covered include:
(1) Building a Green media presence in your city or state
(2) Press releases and advisories
(3) Press conferences
(4) Social media and related online media outreach

Scott McLarty serves as media coordinator and co-chair, along with Starlene Rankin, of the Green Party's Media Committee. He also handles media work for the DC Statehood Green Party. Starlene is also a co-chair of the Green Party and co-chair of the Lavender Green Caucus.
