Just this week, The Guardian
revealed that European Union negotiators shared confidential TransAtlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) text with Exxon Mobil for feedback. In the EU, where corporate lobbyists are less common than in the US, this was scandalous.
The TPP and other treaties will make it impossible for anything that comes out of the Paris climate talks to be put in place if it interferes with corporate profits. This is why we say that there can't be climate justice without trade justice.
In fact, you can put the issue that most concerns you into this sentence: "You can't have _____________ justice without trade justice." Maybe it's food, health care, workers, the Internet or something else. These treaties betray all that we care about and unite us in our opposition. Together, we can and must win!
